One feature of the project is a series of faculty professional development opportunities around math contextualization during Summer/Fall 2017. At both colleges, math and technical faculty were invited to take part in workshops, follow-up webinars and/or support activities, including a culminating session regarding contextualization planning and implementation. Professional development workshops at both colleges were offered via Carnegie Math Pathways (simplified pathways instructional model illustrated below). Also, Communities of Practice are being established at each college to help faculty remain engaged with contextualization and maintain connections made during the activities.
